Day seventeen PART 2 - I made this clay sculpture in 2003 or 2004 - it was short time after a particular loss and this was to be test-fired with crimson glass shards inside of the empty womb area. She was a small-scale model of a larger one that I was planning to make. My little maquette has since lost a hand from a fall (the damage could have been much worse). I rediscovered her a few days ago and was stunned at how relevant she is to me now, and to my recent infertility struggles.
